JOB OVERVIEW
CNPSA is seeking a results-driven professional to join the on-site team in the role of Manager Outage Management to lead local and international team members as part of the Project Management Organization. Reporting to the Project Management, Planning & Budget Control Director this role will be a representative of CNPSA supporting SNN in the refurbishment of Cernavoda Unit 1.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Working in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations:
The Manager Outage Management will work closely with the Project Managers, Engineering and Construction to support development of the detailed outage plan and during construction to provide a key interface between all groups on the immediate progress, issues and upcoming work. They will report directly to the Manager Outage Management with the following accountabilities:
- Establishes the management practices to be utilized in line with project governance.
- Establishes the prioritization of the scope to be performed during the refurbishment.
- Implements the communication protocol to inform all team members of priorities and any changes.
- Approves the overall logic of the refurbishment for safe and efficient execution.
- Develops the appropriate regular reports to be issued and approval process prior to issuance.
- Develops communication protocol within the refurbishment project to ensure appropriate interface between systems and timely resolution of issues as they arise.
- Identify and execute continued learnings to improve execution of the baseline plans.
- Provide guidance to managers regarding improvement to the outage execution processes.
- Ensure outage plans are in accordance with Power Reactor Operating Licence and Operating Policies and Procedures
- Ensure close-out of project and completion of post-requisite activities
- Identify risks to the outage and escalate to appropriate levels of authority for resolution.
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking dynamic and results-driven professionals who have the following:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Superintendent and Manager roles
- 5 years of experience as an Outage Manager with experience in refurbishment outage Management considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Engineering /Project Management and Cost Control principles, codes and standards
- Demonstrated experience in CANDU Refurbishments
- Ability to communicate effectively, possess excellent oral and writing skills, and strong facilitation, negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills. Ability to present information clearly and effectively
- Ability to adequately disposition comments for other technical staff
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize work to meet objectives and targets
- Ability to make decisions based on established requirements, procedures and practices
