The Head of Operations & Maintenance will oversee and manage the end-to-end implementation of EV charging infrastructure projects for Gentari Green Mobility Charge Thailand (GGMCT). This role requires a deep understanding of EV charging systems, regulatory compliance, and project management, with a focus on delivering seamless connectivity and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal teams including Business Development, Product, Engineering and HQ operations teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables;
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine optimal locations for EV charging stations;
- Develop project schedules, budgets, resource plans and cost structure to ensure timely and cost-effective execution;
Technical Design and Engineering:
- Design EV charging layouts, including equipment placement, electrical systems layout, and network infrastructure including civil structure;
- Collaborate with Centre of Excellence and Digital teams to align to regional standard requirements;
- Manage the end-to-end process for securing electric metering and approvals for EV-related permits from local Thailand authorities;
- Review and approve EV charging station designs in compliance with licensing standards;
- Apply & secure low-priority methodology for grid connectivity;
Procurement and Vendor Management:
- Source materials, equipment, and services required for project implementation, ensuring compliance of the hardware with relevant regulatory bodies and internal requirements, including collaboration with required HQ procurement team;
- Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, monitor deliverables and manage vendor relationships;
- Coordinate deliveries and logistics to support project timelines;
Construction Oversight:
- Supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, regulatory requirements, safety standards and timeline;
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and provide technical guidance to construction teams;
- Manage subcontractors and coordinate subcontracted work as needed;
Testing and Commissioning:
- Conduct testing and commissioning of EV charging infrastructure to verify functionality and performance before target commercialization date;
- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement corrective actions as required;
- Ensure seamless integration with existing electrical systems and grid infrastructure and digital application;
Client Communication and Support:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients for technical issues/enquiries, providing project updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations;
- Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to support customer acquisition efforts and promote company services;
- Provide technical assistance and training to clients and end-users as needed;
Maintenance of Chargepoint stations:
- Manage & oversee scheduled preventive maintenance as well as corrective maintenance of the stations by both internal and external vendors;
- Ensure that maintenance & repair works are conducted swiftly & efficiently to minimise downtime and ensure customer service levels are maintained at the highest standards;
- Troubleshoot any technical issues to determine cause of error/downtime and strategize ways to mitigate them, including interfacing with HQ's Operations and/or Digital team;
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, permits, and approvals;
- Prepare and present progress reports including utilization of stations, financial summaries, and other project documentation for internal and external stakeholders;
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement;
Digital Integration:
- Collaborate with digital and product teams to integrate digital platforms ensuring seamless EV charge point connectivity;
- Oversee the performance and troubleshooting of EV chargers via digital tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering or related field;
- Minimum 10 years operations & project management in automotive and/or clean energy sector;
- Strong technical knowledge of electric metering, permits, and EV charging standards and understanding of EV charging technology, electrical systems, and construction practices;
- Proficiency in Project Management and operation and maintenance, including proficiency in software such as Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, REVIT, or other design software;
- Authorized to endorse and approve charging infrastructure designs; Professional Engineer accreditation in Electrical Engineering is a plus;
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively;
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as NEC, IEEE, and UL;
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials preferred.
