POSITION OVERVIEW
Oxbow’s Native Plant Nursery produces about 75,000 native plants per year, many of which are sold through the Plant Stand, a vibrant hub for all things Oxbow. The Native Plant Sales Coordinator works with Oxbow’s Native Plant Nursery and Plant Stand. This position will assist with native plant production in the nursery and help the Plant Stand run smoothly throughout the year while being an ambassador for Oxbow. We are looking for someone who enjoys interacting with customers and shares our passion for native plants and the environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Plant Stand Planning, Operations & Sales 50%
- Perform direct sales of native plants, merchandise, and partner products to customers, with a focus on cultivating positive customer relationships.
- Represent Oxbow in a positive, professional manner, engaging with and educating visitors about Oxbow’s mission and programs.
- Work regular Plant Stand shifts each week and cover additional shifts as needed, including supporting set up with truck loading and unloading on weekends and weekdays as needed.
- Learn as much as possible from the Native Plant Nursery team about the native plants for sale at the Plant Stand.
- Coordinate with other teams as needed to support native plant sales and other on-site events.
- Operate Oxbow’s point of sale (POS) system and make sure software and hardware are updated and working.
- Ensure Oxbow marketing materials (fliers, posters et all) are displayed at Plant Stand and offered to visitors.
- Collaborate with Oxbow’s marketing and communications team to make occasional social media posts regarding the nursery and Plant Stand.
- When relevant, pick-up orders of partner products from nearby businesses.
- Track and update Plant Stand inventory weekly.
- Ensure Plant Stand is clean and organized to welcome visitors.
- Support the Manger of Native Plants Sales in training and supporting other Plant Stand staff.
Native Plant Nursery Support 50%
- Perform duties around crop production, including sowing, thinning, transplanting, pruning, organization, weeding, irrigation, and inventory monitoring.
- Assist in preparing plant orders and loading delivery vehicles.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the nursery and equipment.
- Participate in site preparation, maintenance, and native plant activities on site.
- Assist with and participate in events as needed throughout the season.
- Work cross-functionally with other program teams to ensure efficient and effective communication and operations.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.

COMPENSATION
This is a regular, full-time position, with a competitive compensation package that includes 100% employer paid healthcare, annual dental stipend, employer retirement match, and generous holiday, vacation, and sick leave. The pay rate for this position is $55,000 annually.
