PositionSummary:
The Sr. Commissioning Technician will be an integral part of the commissioning team, with their main responsibility being to work with and support the commissioning engineer and their manager in the commissioning of BESS sites. The successful candidate must be able and willing to travel and complete tasks at various project sites throughout the country and, on occasion, internationally. Experience with BESSorrenewablepowergenerationequipmentinacommissioningor serviceenvironmentisrequired.
Responsibilities:
- CommissionBESSsitesusingCSIEnergyStorage’sSolbankStoragePowerBlockaspartofa commissioning team.
- Performtasksassignedbythecommissioningmanagerandengineer,suchassafetysystem checks, installation inspections, and functional tests.
- Performdailyroutinetaskssuchasexecutingcommissioningchecklists,reviewingandupdating the issues list, and helping to monitor the performance of commissioned assets.
- Supportthecommissioningoftheoverallcontrolsystembytestingthenetworkconnectivityof all field devices and performing point-to-point tests.
- Provideon-sitediagnostic,troubleshooting,andhands-onsupport.
- Supervisesubcontractorson-sitewhererequired.
- Assistindevelopingstandardoperatingproceduresfromlessonslearnedon-site.
- Assistwiththecompletionoftestingdocumentationandpreparationoftestreportsinatimely manner.
- Assistwiththeidentificationandcompilationofspareparts inventories.
- EnsureproperLOTOandswitchingproceduresareobservedasrequired.
- Supportclientandoperationandmaintenancecontractortrainingduringandafter commissioning.
- Adheretoallhealthandsafetyrulesandpolicies.
- AttendandoccasionallyleadPlanofDay(POD)meetings.
- Reviewvendorcommissioningdocumentationforcompletenessandaccuracy.
- Maintaindeficienciespunchlistforeachvendorandtrackcompletionofvarioustasks.
- Workwiththecommissioningengineertoensurepost-handoversiteperformanceisoptimized.
QualificationsandExperience:
- QualifiedElectro-mechanicalTechnician.
- Minimum5years’relevantworkexperienceinaninstallationorserviceenvironment,preferably in renewable energy or power generation.
- Previoustrainingon,orknowledgeof,invertersishighlydesired.
- SCADAexperiencewillbebeneficial.
- Comfortableworkinginateamoralone,withgoodcommunicationskills.
- Goodpracticalproblem-solvingskills.
- Knowledgeofgeneralandnationalcodes,mediumvoltagepowersystems,andEnergyStorage system applications is an asset.
- Excellentverbalandwrittencommunicationskills.
- DemonstratedproficiencyusingMSOfficeApplications(Word,Excel).
- PreviousexperiencewithaCMMSsoftwareprogram preferred.
- Mustpossessavaliddriver’slicensewithacleandrivingrecord.
- FirstAidtrained.
- Mustbeabletotraveltoregionallocationsas needed
- Abilitytofunctionsuccessfullybothindependentlyandwithinateam.
- Demonstratedprofessionalappearanceandconduct.
- Candidatemustpossessavaliddrivinglicenseandbecomfortablewithnationaland,onoccasion, international travel, so must hold an in-date passport.
