Production Manager Johnson City Tennessee
Our client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee production operations.
The Production Manager will manage various manufacturing processes, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
The Production Manager will lead a team of up to 8 direct reports, with a strong focus on fostering a safety-driven culture, continuous improvement, and collaborative leadership.
Responsibilities:
Safety, Health, Environment:
• Lead by example to ensure a strong safety culture is developed and supported.
• Ensure full conformance to EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements.
• Promote safety initiatives, conduct safety training, ensure strict adherence to safety protocols.
Production Management:
• Oversee the day-to-day operations ensuring efficient and high-quality production.
• Coordinate schedules to meet demands ensuring optimal productivity and on-time delivery.
• Monitor production metrics ensure compliance with quality standards.
Team Leadership:
• Lead, develop, and mentor a team focused on safety, performance, professional development.
• Drive team engagement and coaching to ensure the team meet production and safety goals.
• Encourage open communication, collaboration, and critical thinking within the team.
Process Optimization:
• Identify, implement process improvements reduce waste, improve quality enhance efficiency.
• Troubleshoot, resolve equipment issues, coordinating with maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to optimize performance
Quality Assurance:
• Collaborate with quality control that production meets quality standards and specifications.
• Conduct regular confirmations, address issues immediately ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the quality control processes.
Inventory Management:
• Oversee raw material and finished goods inventory levels, to maintain supplies for production.
• Work closely with supply chain team to optimize inventory.
• Manage costs, including labor, materials, and supplies, ensuring budget adherence.
Requirements
• BS degree in Engineering, Business or related
• Proven experience in extrusion, coating or film production processes or similar process
• Strong leadership and communications skills with experience managing teams
• Commitment to fostering a safety-first culture and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for operational efficiency.
• Proficiency in production planning, inventory management, and quality management systems.
• Solid experience with lean tools, Six Sigma, and/or other problem solving tools.
