Summary of Position:
The Carbon Solutions Advisor is the forward-facing representative of multiple global, regional, and for-profit programs under the umbrella of climate action, responsibly sourced gas, and sustainable finance in addition to advising/overseeing emissions reduction projects and managing systems integration of ESG data from different functional teams. This role will have a primary focus on methane reduction through OGMP 2.0 and extends to overseeing emissions reduction projects and ensuring responsible and certified production across a suite of solutions. The professional actively pursues revenue generation through sustainably linked finance and differentiated product marketing. This role requires proven written and verbal communication skills including board content development, trade and technical group leadership, and public speaking, with a desire to continue to develop in this skillset as a representative of Civitas in global, regional, and for-profit programs.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Represent Civitas in the global OGMP 2.0/UN Compact program.
- Attend meetings outside of core hours to actively contribute to program discussions.
- Oversee and manage programs related to certified and responsibly sourced production, interfacing with financial and commodity market conversations.
- Integrate and manage ESG reported data, adhering to quantitative reporting frameworks.
- Oversee ESG dashboard, data integration, and forecasting processes, extending beyond GHG emissions.
- Advise emissions reduction project identification and execution ensuring optimization of impact and timely execution across multiple operational basins and geographical locations.
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) for projects.
- Provide monthly executive updates on project implementation progress and spending.
- Deliver quarterly updates to the ESG Committee.
- Work closely with air quality, regulatory, engineering, and operations teams.
- Ensure operational alignment to achieve corporate goals.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Experience and training in sustainability strategy, implementation, and leadership.
- Experience in emissions accounting and reporting, air quality policy and compliance.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Enterprise material and impact mindset.
- Ability to conform to company vehicle policies.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, sustainability, or other related field.
- 7+ years of application in upstream oil and gas
- 5+ years of experience directly aligned with sustainability objectives (emissions elimination, water resource management, workforce health and safety)
- 2+ years of proven performance in communication to executive leadership
- ACTs experience desired
- Proficiency in Workiva, IconicAir, Enverus-ESG a plus
Travel Requirements:
- Work Location: Work is performed at a CIVI location Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays as business needs allow and with manager approval.
- Schedule: Traditional 40-hour workweek or an alternative schedule of 9-hour workdays Monday through Thursday and 4-hour workdays on Friday, as business needs allow and with manager approval.
- Travel required to the Civitas field locations (<25%).
