Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
oBased out of your home, travel to distributed and utility-scale solar and battery storage facilities in local region to perform preventative & corrective maintenance
oPerform other technical and administrative duties associated with operating and maintaining a power facility
oCoordinate and manage contractors engaged to support maintenance activities
oProvide limited support for commissioning activities
oLead/support warranty claims processes with vendors as needed.
oEnsure work is performed in accordance with Environmental and Safety requirements.
oPerform work independently and in team environments
Desired Skills, Expertise and Competencies:
oProven experience with a variety of electrical equipment and knowledge of basic IT and remote communications equipment
oExperience with Battery Energy Storage systems (BESS), a plus.
oAbility to prioritize and plan preventative & corrective maintenance on solar and battery storage equipment
oUnderstanding of general workplace safety and the ability to follow safety standards as well as help the company improve upon the standards in place
oAbility to excel in a collaborative, cross-functional and geographically diverse organization
oMaturity, professionalism, and excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Education / Experience:
oTechnical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualifications a plus
oThree (3) years of experience as a PV O&M solar technician or
oFive (5) or more years’ experience in a power plant
oDemonstrated knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals (single craft journeyman skills) such as electrical measurements, control circuits, and electrical theory application
oBasic knowledge of operational characteristics of equipment and associated control devices installed in power facilities
Working Conditions:
oWorking outside and from home
oNormal plant and/or office environment, including working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures, and high/low humidity areas
oRequires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment
oRequires use of personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
oMay be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals
oOccasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities
oPerforms other duties as assigned
oWillingness to work overtime and non-standard working hours as required.
