Introduction

Our client in the Solar industry is looking for an Environmental Officer who will be responsible for ensuring that the organization complies with environmental regulations and standards. This role involves conducting environmental assessments, developing and implementing environmental policies, and promoting sustainable practices within the PV projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct environmental assessments and audits.
Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures.
Monitor and report on environmental performance.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
Promote sustainable practices within the organization.
Provide training and support to staff on environmental issues.
Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory agencies.
Stay up-to-date with developments in environmental science and policy.
Collaborate with various departments to integrate environmental considerations.
Investigate and resolve environmental incidents and complaints.
Coordinate waste management and recycling programs.
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
Participate in environmental impact assessments for new projects.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an environmental role.
Professional Registered with SACNASP
Must have Solar PV Project experience
Strong knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proactive and detail-oriented approach.
