MAJOR DUTIES: The major duties of the Supervisory IT Specialist (SYSADMIN) position include, but are not limited to, the following: This position leads the Infrastructure Management Branch (IMB), which is part of the National Information Technology Center (NITC), Information Resources Management Directorate (IRMD), Washington Support Office (WASO), National Park Service (NPS), located in Washington DC. The purpose of this position is to provide competent authority, guidance and management of all activities related to the Servers and Workstations, Directory Services, and Mobile Devices for the NPS in the cloud, meaning Microsoft Entra ID and Intune, and on-premises environments, including Microsoft Active Directory and Config Manager. This position requires expert knowledge including new approaches and methods to assess systems operations, analyzing emerging requirements, providing new and unprecedented interpretations of guidelines, assessing the feasibility of new systems, and isolating recurring operational problems. This position oversees projects and supervises line staff. The NITC, in addition to the responsibilities of the IMB, is responsible for radio & spectrum management, Wide Area Network (WAN), public and production WiFi, Microsoft end point configuration management, enterprise hosting and the WASO service desk.
