JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in the Office of Policy, Office of the Director, National Park Service (NPS), Department of the Interior. MAJOR DUTIES: The incumbent is a senior level official within the Office of Policy, National Park Service (NPS), overseeing all aspects of the National Park System Advisory Board and other Federal advisory committees as assigned (collectively referred to as "committees" in this announcement). The incumbent develops partnerships within and outside the Federal government, builds consensus among diverse parties, and resolves conflicts in a constructive manner, all in furtherance of the mission and priorities of the NPS. The incumbent exercises a high level of initiative, effort, and independence in all aspects of their work with minimal supervision. The incumbent is responsible for administering Federal advisory committees in compliance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act, related General Services Administration regulations, and other applicable regulations, statutes, and policies. The incumbent possesses outstanding organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with an ability to operate in a fast-paced environment. The major duties of the Policy Analyst include, but are not limited to: Serves as the Staff Director to the National Park System Advisory Board, and other Federal advisory committees as assigned, overseeing the operation, maintenance, and functioning of the committees. Oversees logistics and content for Federal advisory committee meetings and related site visits. Keeps senior leadership informed of the work of the committees, ensuring tasks and recommendations are in alignment with NPS and Department of the Interior (DOI) priorities. Facilitates public meetings to ensure rules of order are followed, members are given an opportunity to participate in deliberations, and members of the public are given the opportunity to attend and if interested, submit comments. Collaborates, builds relationships, and works effectively with committee members, stakeholders, DOI and NPS officials, and the public to advance the NPS mission and priorities.
