We have an exceptional opportunity for an Environmental Permitting Compliance Specialist to join our clients innovative carbon capture project in London on a 6-month contract.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that all environmental regulations and permitting requirements are met, contributing to the success of a ground breaking initiative aimed at reducing carbon emissions. This prestigious project is currently in the design phase and requires a skilled professional to offer environmental permitting/ compliance specialist knowledge for both the construction phase and subsequent stages.
As an Environmental Permitting Compliance Specialist, you will be at the forefront of environmental sustainability, working with a dedicated team to navigate complex regulatory landscapes. Your expertise will be instrumental in securing necessary permits and ensuring compliance with environmental standards, thus playing a crucial role in the project's overall success.
Office location London, remote/ hybrid options available.
Responsibilities & Tasks
- Develop and implement strategies for obtaining environmental permits for the carbon capture project.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and standards.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to facilitate the permitting process.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Monitor and audit project activities to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Provide expert advice on environmental permitting and compliance issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into project planning.
- Stay updated on changes in environmental legislation and best practices.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in environmental permitting and compliance, preferably within the oil & gas or renewable energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in preparing detailed reports and documentation.
- Experience in conducting environmental impact assessments.
- A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
