Project summary
Campus Climate Action Corps engages AmeriCorps members in developing partnerships between higher education institutions and the community to develop and implement a climate action plan. Members increase energy efficiency in underserved households, improve at-risk ecosystems, provide community education about energy-saving behaviors and environmental stewardship, and receive green career training. Members serve in small teams and leverage volunteers, impacting both the campus and community.
Opportunity description
Serve as home energy navigator for underserved households by providing basic home assessments, low-tech interventions, and referrals to energy assistance programs. Plan and implement community projects to improve at-risk ecosystem health. Provide community education on energy-saving behaviors and environmental stewardship. The hourly pay equivalent reflects a $2,000 living stipend and a $1,565.08 education award upon successful completion of the service term.

Requirements
High school diploma; US citizen, national, or legal permanent resident; Must be able to complete a federal background check; Valid driver's license and access to personal vehicle.
Preferred qualifications
Bachelor's degree; Commitment to climate action and environmental stewardship; Experience engaging community partners and/or college students; Experience with outreach, volunteer recruitment & management, or event planning; Experience in environmental education, environmental stewardship, sustainability, or home energy efficiency; Motivated team leader with exceptional organizational skills.
