Location: Brooklyn, New York | Rotation Schedule: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
Are you ready to play a critical role in the launch of our inaugural offshore wind farm in the USA? Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you’ll join our Empire Wind Service team as part of a rotational schedule, working 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off from the Service Operations Vessel (SOV).
This leadership role offers the chance to oversee offshore operations while enhancing team development, maintaining production quality, and promoting a culture of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE).
Responsibilities:
As SOV Shift Manager, you will:
- Lead Offshore Operations: Oversee production planning, service execution, and maintenance activities while ensuring operational excellence.
- Manage Teams: Develop your team’s professional growth, conduct regular performance reviews, and establish a positive, collaborative culture onboard the vessel.
- Build Safety Culture: Promote and model a safety-first mindset through regular inspections, audits, and adherence to HSE protocols.
- Foster Communication: Act as a key liaison between the SOV crew, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure smooth operations and alignment.
- Promote Continuous Improvement: Focus on operational efficiency, first-time fixes, and meeting or exceeding performance targets.
- Develop Expertise: Travel extensively during your first 1.5 years to gain offshore wind experience and train on new Vestas platforms.
- Contingency Planning: Develop and implement contingency plans for vessel operations and windfarm downtime management.

- Ability to work and live onboard a Service Operations Vessel in various weather conditions and sea swells
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 lbs. in weight
- Able to climb towers unassisted up to 475 feet.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 year college diploma, 4 year degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing a large team, ideally with a renewables background
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and other software programs
- Valid driver's license, ability to obtain a passport, and able to travel as required
- Ability to obtain TWIC card to access US Port facilities
- Able to safely work in a wide range of adverse climates and environments.
- Ability to demonstrate advanced working knowledge of industrial safety practices / protocols (e.g. Confined Space, energy isolation)
- Have a high level understanding of the different components of the wind turbine systems

Physical Demands
- Ability to work and live onboard a Service Operations Vessel in various weather conditions and sea swells
- Ability to obtain OEUK Medical Clearance and successfully pass a Chester Step Test
- Ability to work in a seated indoor environment for extended periods of time
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and carry items up to 50 lbs. in weight
- Ability to frequently walk, stand, look up/down, balance, stoop, twist, kneel, and bend
- Able to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions
- Your total weight, while wearing all required PPE and gear, should be at or less than the 300.0 lbs. weight limit

- The base salary range for this position is $115,000 to 145,000 per year. Additional variable compensation will be considered as part of offshore requirements.
- Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
