Who we are looking for:
We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to lead and support all controls engineering initiatives at Phoenix Tailings. This role requires an exceptional leader who combines technical expertise with strategic vision to ensure the seamless integration of control systems, electrical controls, and robotics into our sustainable metals production processes.

Key Responsibilities: - Leadership: Lead controls engineering projects at Phoenix Tailings, supporting the strategy and direction for control systems across the organization.
- Design & Development: Oversee the design and optimization of control systems for high-temperature processes such as molten salt electrolysis and solvent extraction, leveraging Allen-Bradley PLCs and Ignition HMI/SCADA platforms.
- Technical Oversight: Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of all control systems, electrical controls, and robotics applications.
- Specialization: Drive innovation and excellence in your area of specialization—Control Systems, Electrical Controls, or Robotics Engineering.
- Mentorship: Lead and mentor senior and junior engineers, cultivating a collaborative and high-performing engineering culture.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, operations, and engineering teams to integrate systems seamlessly across the production process.
- Project Management: Direct and manage complex controls engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s electrical engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years experience in designing and managing control systems for high-temperature or process engineering environments.
- Expertise in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley preferred).
- Proficiency in HMI/SCADA development, particularly Ignition.
- Strong background in instrumentation and control strategies.
- Proven experience with CAD software for technical schematics.
