MAJOR DUTIES: As a Budget Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Apply specific budgetary rules, regulations, principles, and procedures to achieve all phases of budget formulation and execution for a major and substantive budget. Lead preparation of annual budget estimates for the organization to include appropriated and cost-share funds balanced against overhead and projected costs. Conduct special studies and analysis of trends, and develop projections to identify variances in rates of expenditures and obligations. Analyze, evaluate, and recommend strategic actions to better leverage funding to support mission requirements, such as short fall and trade off requirements, cost analysis, and appropriateness of funding requests. Serve as a recognized technical authority on the development and interpretation of budgetary guidelines, policies, legislation, and regulations covering the budgetary operations of one or more substantive national programs, providing advice to top management within the organization on the Federal budget formulation and execution process. Provide Team Lead duties over a small staff, including directing & tracking assignments, in the formulation of the organization's budget. Manage travel card program, process and monitor new request, and review monthly expenses for payment delinquencies and/or unusual activities.
