JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in a National Park Service Unit. Performs simple and routine work involved in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings and related utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, cement work, painting, and other related trades. MAJOR DUTIES: Performs routine maintenance and repairs on grounds, exterior structures, buildings, equipment, and utilities. Assists skilled maintenance workers in various tasks and projects. Conducts minor carpentry repairs, including replacing broken planks and adjusting hardware. Handles minor painting projects where appearance is not critical, such as staining furniture and fixtures. Executes minor plumbing repairs, including replacing fittings, unclogging drains, and servicing gas bottles. Collects trash, maintains campground sites and trails, and operates vehicles and equipment for transport and project assistance.
