Job Description
Must reside in the USA to be considered.
Education : Requires 4-year degree - Occupational Health and Safety or Enviornmental Health and Safety, plus 3-5 years' experience, in manufacturing environment.
REQUIRES Knowledge and Certification
- RCRA and Hazardous Waste Management Certification.
- OSHA 10 hour or 30-hour Certification.
- 24 Hour HAZWOPER/Emergency Spill Response.
- Occupational health and Safety Technologist (OHST); Certified Loss Control Specialist (CLCS); Safety Trained Supervisor (STS); Associate Safety Professional (ASP); or similar professional accreditation
- 40 Hour HAZWOPER/Emergency Spill Response.
Responsible for global MTS in the development, implementation, monitoring, maintenance and improvement of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure a working environment is aligned with the QEHS management system, and is compliant with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. To ensure actions are accurately reflected in the QMS system supporting the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Ensures all EHS programs and policies accurately reflect the QEHS system supporting the ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Develop and foster a safety culture where every MTS employee is aware and empowered to participate in improving EHS with MTS.
- Performs reporting, analysis and recommends improvements for the EHS programs. Maintains various reporting, files, and records systems in support of compliance tracking programs, core databases and program support systems.
- Define & Lead efforts to continuously improve EHS performance and operations, including safety improvement programs and corrective actions across all MTS sites (ergonomics, industrial hygiene, engineering controls, PPE, etc.).
- Facilitates across functions in the development, deployment, and improvement of EHS programs.
- Plans, communicates, and participates in EHS site audits, regulatory inspections and routine surveys including monitoring of trends/results of these activities.
- Facilitates the EHS management of change process and its initiatives. Supports all site functions in their risk assessments by participating during initiation or change to processes and procedures.
- Lead the response to environmental, health and safety concerns raised by employees and participate in accident/incident investigations. Support with workers’ compensation claims as needed.
- Leads investigations for EHS incidents, performs root causes analysis and risk assessment evaluations. and contributes to successful resolutions.
- Conducts training in areas such as: ergonomics, emergency response team, lockout/tag out, hazard communication, and personal protective equipment.
- Performs routine industrial and hazardous waste management activities such as waste inventories, vendor scheduling and waste haul oversight, and manifest tracking.
- Maintain liaisons with outside organizations such as fire departments so that emergency responses can be facilitated.
- Seeks out and participates in professional conferences, workshops, training programs, and seminars, as needed or required for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information to perform job functions and to enhance, grow, and expand their core competencies and capabilities.

Qualifications
Education:
