The Opportunity
The Senior Manager of Sustainability will be a key part of a high performing team focused on enabling our sustainability strategy. This pivotal role will harness the power of data and analytics to drive actionable insights, empowering us to support our disclosures and drive our sustainability strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and maintenance of a near real time sustainability dashboard, tracking and reporting progress against sustainability objectives, priorities, and initiatives.
- Drive automation and integration of sustainability data across the enterprise
- Be accountable for measuring, monitoring, and reporting on the effectiveness of Sustainability strategies, objectives, and performance targets.
- Offer expertise and serve as a resource for internal partners on reporting and broader sustainability opportunities.
- Use sustainability and GHG policy and guideline expertise (e.g. GHGH protocol) to provide guidance on calculations and reporting for voluntary and regulatory reporting
- Drive business results through objectives that align with sustainability strategies and enhance the Company’s reputation on environmental and sustainability issues.
- Ability to lead and manage a team, and work strongly cross-organization and cross-functionally to drive shared objectives with partners such as Investor Relations, Engineering, Human Resources, EHS, Legal, and Communications to support our sustainability strategy.
- Innovate in product development, supply chain, and operations by researching and evaluating evolving ESG trends, Best Practices, and legislation with a global perspective.
What you Bring:
- Sustainability: Knowledge of sustainability strategy; ability to integrate sustainability into the overall business strategy of the organization to build a sustainable business model
- Effectiveness Measurement: Knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement
- Knowledge of the Organization: Knowledge of the organization’s vision, structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, values and code of ethics; ability to understand the value of aligning capabilities with business goals to support optimal performance
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgement
- Influencing: knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization
- Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of “big picture” thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization
- Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project
- Manufacturing Trends & Directions: knowledge of manufacturing industry developments, trends and experiences; ability to effectively utilize knowledge of manufacturing trends and directions in various business environments
Must Haves:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Studies, Finance or other area of study with clear and relevant experience in Sustainability
- 10+ years of relevant experience in related fields.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the collection, analysis, and reporting of Sustainability efforts.
- Current and clear understanding of broad ESG issues, including familiarity with GRI, IIRS, GHG Protocol, SASD, CDSB, IIRC, SASB.
- Exceptional attention to detail with robust analytical and planning skills; capable of handling complex matters under deadline pressure.
- A team player who can independently initiate and drive projects with equal prowess in cross-functional collaboration and advocacy.
- Excellent communication skills; adept at simplifying complex issues and providing clear analysis and risk areas and actionable recommendations.
- Strategic, creative, practical, and open-minded thinking with a keen business acumen focused on outcomes
