SA Recycling, an industry leader in the metals recycling and processing industry, is looking for Maintenance Mechanic who will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and inspection of an auto shredder and concentrator. As a Maintenance Mechanic you will ensure operations by completing preventive maintenance and repair requirements on hydraulic, electrical, conveyor, and shredding systems; and will perform welding, machining, and metal fabrication on structural components.
This position will work outside in varying weather conditions, and SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
Working hours are from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
- Conduct basic to moderately complex diagnostic, troubleshooting, and service and repair tasks for all hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems for the auto shredder and concentrator.
- Complete routine inspections for misalignment, wear, and defect and conduct routine maintenance tasks with limited interruptions to production.
- Inspect, install, rig, modify, remove, and repair motors, pulley’s, sensors, safety guards, etc.
- Maintain, repair and replace both metal and belt conveyor systems.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed in accordance with manufacturers and SA Recycling’s recommendations and guidelines.
- Communicates and works well with others in a safe and professional manner.
- Maintain safe, clean, and orderly working areas.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventories; placing and tracking orders; and verifying receipt of received orders.
- Perform all assigned tasks fully within SA Recycling’s Safety and Environmental practices and procedures.
Qualifications for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic:
- Vocational/Technical Industrial Maintenance Mechanic degree, or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Prior work experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a scrap metal recycling yard, quarry, or medium to heavy industrial environment highly preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical bulletins, schematics, technical manuals, drawings, and procedures.
- Willingness to work outside in varying weather conditions.
- Experience in operating and directing heavy equipment such as a forklift, skid steer, crane, and hoists.
- Must be willing to complete, and successfully pass a drug screen, physical and background check.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
