Job Summary
The Human Resources Director is a hands-on leader who serves as a strategic partner and tactical operator for all aspects of HR in a dynamic and growing organization. As a department of one, the HRD will manage all HR functions, including recruitment, compliance, compensation, employee relations, safety, and facilities, while leveraging a strong HR operations background to execute day-to-day activities effectively. This role requires the ability to balance strategic planning with tactical execution to meet immediate and long-term organizational needs.
- Oversee and manage HR operations, including recruitment, compliance, compensation, benefits, employee relations, safety, and facilities; act as the primary point of contact for all HR-related inquiries, ensuring timely and effective responses.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures; conduct regular audits of HR practices, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and address gaps.
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with business goals and promote a positive workplace culture; serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing guidance on HR matters and workforce planning.
- Lead recruitment efforts, from job posting to hiring, to attract top talent for the organization; develop, administer, and continuously refine competitive compensation packages and incentive programs.
- Design and execute onboarding programs to integrate new hires successfully; administer offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless employee experience. Develop and oversee employee training and development initiatives to support growth and retention.
- Develop and maintain HRIS, HR reports, and dashboards to monitor metrics such as turnover, headcount, engagement, and safety; use data-driven insights to guide decision-making and strategic planning. Report regularly to leadership on HR performance and key initiatives.
- Design and implement recognition initiatives to celebrate employee contributions and enhance engagement; lead employee engagement surveys and develop action plans based on feedback.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive workplace environment by addressing employee concerns and promoting engagement; act as a mediator in resolving conflicts and building strong employee-manager relationships.
- Oversee facilities management, including workspace planning and safety initiatives, to ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and protocols.
- Track and report safety metrics, addressing any incidents or areas for improvement; maintain detailed records of incidents and oversee OSHA compliance and reporting. Administer and manage workers’ compensation claims, ensuring timely reporting and resolution.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (i.e., finance, operations, sales) to align HR operations with overall business strategies. Collaborate with IT to implement and maintain employee equipment, HR systems, tools, and technologies.
- Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to build an inclusive workplace culture.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Master’s degree preferred.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of broad HR experience, with a strong focus on HR operations and generalist responsibilities.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screenings.
- Ability to work in the office as directed

- Proficiency in HRIS systems and strong technological acumen.

- Strong computer/technology skills; MS Office, MS Teams, HRIS, etc.
- A positive attitude and ability to keep moving forward.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- This position is performed in a standard office environment.
- This person will operate more than 90% of the time in a stationary position. When not stationary, this person may need to move about the office environment to access filing cabinets, office machinery etc.
- This person must be able to operate a computer, common software packages as other office machinery such as a calculator and a printer.
- Occasional attendance at industry events, trade shows, and community outreach programs to promote solar products and services.
