Job Description
Summary: Develop and lead project practices on a broad portfolio of technology projects and initiatives with accountability for developing and overseeing the project intake, prioritization, and approval processes. Facilitate communications among various levels of the business through verbal updates, reporting, dashboards, and documentation.
Plans and coordinates all aspects of internal information technology-specific projects through planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling resources and deliverables for multiple enterprise-wide projects. This includes managing ERP implementations and ERP-related projects to successful completion. Projects often involve network, server, or software implementation and upgrades which require coordinating work performed by internal and external IT staff and internal customers/partners and collaborating with key stakeholders to create communication and escalation plans. Develops detailed project plans and manages all implementation processes to ensure projects are complete, accurate, and delivered on time and budget.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accountable for in-scope, on-schedule, on-budget and high-quality delivery of all IT projects in the portfolio.
- Establish and continually improve existing project management processes, methodologies, and tools for the IT organization to ensure that all projects follow a consistent submission, approval, and tracking process.
- Communicate clearly to leadership, key stakeholders, and customers in writing and verbally. (Project updates, reports, dashboards, customer feedback, meeting minutes, etc . . .)
- Coach and mentor the project management development of team members within the given project or team.
- Develop internal and external customer relationships that result in quality project deliveries
- Lead and participate in training efforts for assigned projects.
- Proactively seek learning opportunities and stay current on new skills to bring benefit to the local program office and projects.
- Makes quality recommendations and independently carries out solutions to assigned IT-related tasks.
- Within specific projects, make timely and actionable recommendations, sometimes without oversight.
- Discretion within assigned projects to make independent testing and support decisions to achieve quality goals.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience IT Project Management experience
- Experience with developing and implementing PMO methodologies and project standards
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate
- Excellent facilitation, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Strong organizational and change management skills
- Experience leading multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience in leading projects related to both software and IT Infrastructure implementations with both traditional and agile methodologies
- Experience with MS Project or related scheduling too
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in ERP-related projects and other large enterprise-wide IT projects
- ITIL / Agile / Scrum certifications
