Semper Solaris is looking for an organized and motivated Solar Service Technician III for our Solar Services department. The Solar Service Technician III will perform a wide variety of electrical and troubleshooting duties in Solar and Battery. The ideal candidate will be motivated, dedicated, and a team player. In addition, the ideal candidate will have high attention to detail and a genuine care to his/her craftsmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot a variety of solar and battery systems including, but not limited to SolarEdge, Tesla, Enphase, SMA, Fronius, and ABB
- Remove and reinstall existing Solar systems in entirety (panels, inverters, racking and roof attachments
- Report thorough job notes and diagnostics
- Communicate with manufacturers for technical and RMA support
- Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing tasks
- Perform QA analysis on existing solar systems. (understand code requirement changes over time)
- Act as a subject matter expert for customers
- Manage the comprehensive customer experience
- Ability to travel as much as 50% of the time
- Other tasks and duties as needed
Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in residential solar and electrical and battery
- Knowledge of solar industry and NEC code
- Ability to work independently and with minimal direction/oversight
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Valid CA driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with failure analysis/diagnosis and the processes used to facilitate them
- Familiarity with NEC codes
- Minimum 3 years of residential solar experience at crew lead/foreman level
- Must be resourceful and able to troubleshoot and communicate any identified issues independently
- Must be highly organized and punctual
- Comfortable working with a variety of technologies and equipment - mobile device apps and laptop software
Pay Rate: $34-$38 per hour DOE
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time
- Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs regularly, and be comfortable with heights of at least 20 feet and walking on all roof types
- Able to work in various weather conditions and in extreme temperatures
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
