Job Overview:
The HR Business Partner will join a dynamic team of human resource professionals who work collaboratively to support the growth of our business. You will be responsible for consulting with and coaching leaders in our organization. The responsibilities consist of program/policy development, policy interpretation and enforcement, training, employee relations, and the coaching, reviewing and delegating work of and to HR Coordinators. The role provides the unique opportunity to lend your advanced education, work experience and skills to our department’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Advise, coach, and consult with managers and leaders on employee concerns and issues regarding policies, practices, terminations, discipline, compensation, and performance
- Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
- Understand HRIS and report on various data for management
- Train employees, managers and leaders on HR related policies, legislation and HRIS
- Partner with leadership to mitigate and decrease escalated employee relations concerns
- Handle employee relations concerns by investigating, resolving, and communicating with proper parties
- Identify areas where HR related processes could be improved or made more efficient for end-users
- Perform effective and concise exit interviews with all professional and field salary employees departing the organization and evaluate trends
- Administer and record recognition and incentive programs
- Interpret and clarify employment standards questions and queries, and ensure compliance to such legislation
- Coach, review and train HR staff on policy and practices
- Delegate work to HR Coordinators
- Assist with immigration services
- Other duties as required by management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years practical HR generalist experience, with performance management and employee relations responsibilities.
- SHRM-CP or PHR Certification desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and mediation skills.
- Self-motivated, self-learner, capable of working autonomously.
- Ability to work well under pressure and respond to changing priorities.
- Ability to maintain and protect confidential information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and relationship building skills; ability to interact professionally and knowledgeably with wide variety of individuals.
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Experience or working knowledge of the construction industry and/or DOT compliance desirable, but not required.
- Ability to travel to out-state locations as required to support operations.
