About the Job
This is a Senior Staff / Principal level position. As Program Manager – Electrolyte Production Facility, you will orchestrate the design and construction of one of North America’s first facilities dedicated to the production of next-generation lithium-ion battery electrolytes. You will be the point person to deliver on Anthro’s recent $25M grant from the Department of Energy to build a large-scale production facility for polymer electrolytes. You will work cross-functionally amongst external stakeholders and Anthro’s internal team to help realize our rapid scale-up plans.
What you will do
- Oversee all activities related to the planning and bring-up of Anthro’s 12,000 ton electrolyte production facility
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets for facility construction
- Act as a central point of coordination between external parties, internal teams, regulatory bodies, and government officials
- Identify and down select external vendors for EPC, equipment, EH&S, and permitting/certification
- Provide technical guidance on facility design production processes and equipment selection to determine alignment with industry standards and safety requirements
- Oversee completion of Front End Engineering Design for the facility
- Analyze effect of equipment selection and process conditions on CAPEX intensity, project cost, and facility throughput
- Develop and optimize process engineering diagrams in conjunction with external engineering firms and internal process engineers
- Assist with site selection and environmental policy compliance for the project facility
- Work with company leadership to plan for internal staffing during project planning, construction, and operational phases [e.g. quality, supply chain, process engineering, operators, etc.]
- ‘Whatever it takes’ attitude to push the project forward
- Work in-person, on-site at Anthro’s lab in Alameda, and travel to the facility in Kentucky up to 1 time per month
- 10+ years experience in engineering and program management
- 4+ years of experience in manufacturing facility development as part of a team that successfully scaled-up a plant
- Expertise in process engineering with the ability to create, interpret, and edit process flow diagrams
- Expertise with lithium-ion batteries preferred
- Experience in either battery manufacturing, polymer production, and/or batch reactors
- Previous experience working with EPC firms, conducting FEED, and building internal teams
- B.S. or M.S. in chemical engineering, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or other related field
- Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to hold team members accountable for deadlines and deliverables
- Ability to craft clear project management plans, PowerPoint slides, and spreadsheets
- Competitive salary and equity compensation commensurate with experience. Expected compensation range is $175-225k.
