JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of the position is to perform building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties. Incumbent utilizes journeyman knowledge and skills in several trades and crafts. All of the duties described by this position may not exist in each location, but that should not preclude use of this position. MAJOR DUTIES: MAJOR DUTIES: perform a variety of duties as a maintenance mechanic on buildings and utilities using journeyman skills in Sheetmetal, iron, wood crafting, masonry, glazing and painting some of these are historic building and utilities. Work with the building and utilities in constructing new, alter or repair, rehabilitate or modify existing historic items such as windows, doors, posts, beams, stairways, railings interior and exterior moldings siding, rafters, roofing, etc. May serve as 'Project Inspector' on later Historic Preservation Project contracts. Operates trucks up to 20,000 GVW on public roads. Operates and performs preventive maintenance on portable generators, and portable water pumps. Work at heights up to 130'. Assists other historic structure teams in work duties, provides general information to public and may perform custodial services when needed. This is an open continuous vacancy announcement.
