JOB SUMMARY: This position is a Wildlife Refuge Manager, GS-0485-12 working in Alamo, Texas for the R2-Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge. This position is at the full performance level. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Wildlife Refuge Manager your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Supervises a small team of professional, technical, analytical, administrative support staff, and blue collar workers (permanent and seasonal staff), staff as well may include Contractors, Volunteers, Interns, NGO, Partners, etc. setting a team attitude of adhering to high professional standards and completion of accurate, high quality work. Draft and prepare natural resource management plan(s), endangered species recovery plan(s), environmental impact statement(s), environmental assessment(s), grant proposal(s), management plan(s), research proposal(s), or public use plan(s). Organize and lead meetings where important and controversial issues are discussed among diverse interested parties. Develop and maintain ongoing partnership(s) or relationships with other agencies, organizations or special interest groups.
