JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of the work is custodial and janitorial work such as sweeping, scrubbing and waxing floors, washing windows and walls, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures. Work is done by hand or with powered equipment. The incumbent must on a regular basis operate light duty motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds (such as pick-up trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, etc...) to transport personnel, material, or equipment to work sites. MAJOR DUTIES: Incumbent uses a government vehicle to transports personnel and supplies from location to location which requires a valid state driver's license. Duties include the daily cleaning of office buildings, visitor use areas such as beach bathhouse, restrooms, picnic shelters and campground, emptying of trash and recycle bins, litter pick-up, beach clean-up, and grounds maintenance such as mowing, weed eating, blowing and shoveling. Vehicle maintenance such as refueling, cleaning, and scheduling repairs by work order is also required. This is a full-time position. The work shift is from 07:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and requires working weekends and holidays. All applicants must be able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, on unlevel ground and must be able to lift 50 lbs.
