The Service Software team sits within the Turbine SW Organization in Vestas. The department is key for ensuring that our Software enables our Service Operations and Service Technicians to work efficiently, and that all aspects of Software related to service are addressed.
Collaboration with the Service Business Unit will be a key characteristic of this team, which includes SW Development engineers and data analysts with international obligations.
The team will have the following focus areas:
- Working on advanced troubleshooting methods and Turbine Self-Diagnostics
- Working on methods to increase Service Technician effectiveness and reduce turbine visits
- Working on predictive maintenance both based on data from sensors to predict when service/maintenance is needed and learn from historical data to forecast potential failures before they happen
- Focusing on the ease of maintenance within software design
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will cover:
- You will be part of a team providing engineering service focused solutions to our Turbine Control Software product portfolio and supporting the expansion of the portfolio
- Addressing the issues reported from field and RCA & problem solving related to turbines in operation
- Support the service technical team across the globe that keeps our turbine fleet running
- The work involves high level of engineering i.e. balancing a solution towards various specific requirements
- Addressing the issues specific to personal systems in the turbine and developing solutions having close collaboration with the system leads
- You will be responsible for verification of the solution on all levels, including software tests (in-house) and field verification
- You will be also responsible for documenting and presenting your work in a precise way to your internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or or equivalent practical experience. Demonstrated expertise in software architecture and design patterns, with a deep understanding of when and how to apply them effectively
- Proficient in modern C++, encompassing areas such as templates, type traits, compile-time optimizations, and memory management. Well-versed in the C++ ecosystem, including familiarity with popular libraries and frameworks. Good understanding of compiler operations and principles
- Experience or understanding of embedded systems, cross-platform projects, and real-time systems
- Knowledgeable in secure coding practices to ensure robust software development
- Experience with working within agile frameworks
- Familiarity with testing libraries and proficiency in version control
- Understanding of build systems and tools to streamline development processes
