MAJOR DUTIES: Major Duties: This position provides facility operations and management support at Rocky Mountain National Park. The Facility Management Systems Specialist provides technical support involved in asset management work associated with the Facility Management Software System (FMSS) and other related condition assessment and cost estimating systems. This position also serves as the hub lead for the High Plains Group of National Park Service Sites, which includes Bent's Old Fort NHS, Capulin Volcano NM, Sand Creek Massacre NHS., and Amache NHS. Major duties include but are not limited to the following: Operate and maintain data in the facility management software system including, but not limited to, asset identification and inventory, condition assessments, cost estimating, work order generation, and life-cycle information. Review and correct data in the facility data management systems. Prepare, analyze, and present reports to management from the facility management database for operational, fiscal, and planning purposes. Participate in the formulation and execution of long-range strategies for facility management for parks within the network. Develop project scopes, prepare work orders, cost estimates, and narratives for facility projects for the annual Service-wide Comprehensive Call. Coordinate with park staff by reviewing reports to prioritize asset needs and communicate annual project needs to parks and aid in developing facility projects in the Project Management Information System (PMIS). Review facility PMIS projects to ensure data fields are aligned and accurate information presented, such as beginning and ending Facility Condition Index, work order types, etc. Use standardized guidelines to determine the condition of all assets, including annual and comprehensive assessments, life-cycle assessment, and daily work findings. Complete the annual review, close out, and setup of numerous routine and complex maintenance work orders such as replacing aging infrastructure, preservation of a historic site, changes in facility usage and/or modernization for inclusion in the operational budget. Physical Demands: the work is primarily sedentary. Visits to job sites or travel to conference may be required. Occasional hiking, climbing or crawling to perform asset inspections may be required. Working Conditions: the work is normally performed in an office setting. Travel to various site locations within the park to perform asset inspections may be required.
