We are seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to provide remote on-call support to Minot AFB, ND. This role involves technical expertise, fieldwork and occasional travel to project site as required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive technical support for environmental reviews in support of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), Clean Air Act (CAA) and Clean Water Act (CWA).
- Prepare and edit comprehensive environmental reports, assessments, and documents related to federal and state environmental compliance (e.g., SWPPP, FRP, SPCC, AEI, AEEIR, CAEIR, EPCRA).
- Conduct and oversee environmental fieldwork, including monitoring and data collection related to air, water, and hazardous waste.
- Analyze environmental variables for federal actions.
- Track schedules to ensure deliverables are submitted on time.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders and communicate findings clearly.
- Maintain data in environmental databases, including ESOH-MIS, APIMS, STAR, and state databases.
- Attend meetings with project stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental science or engineering, with a focus on air, water, and hazardous waste management.
- Knowledge and experience with NEPA, CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, and CAA.
- Familiarity with federal and state environmental statutes and regulations, as well as military installation requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), EESOH-MIS, APIMS and STAR.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
- Ability to successfully pass a federal agency background check.
- Individuals already possessing an adjudicated national agency check with inquiries (NACI) are preferred as well as prior Air Force experience.
- Motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
