DescriptionAn exciting opportunity has arisen at Digital Catapult to recruit a Senior Practice Lead - Energy & Sustainability in the Business Development function. In this sales leadership role, the successful candidate will lead commercial business development activities across the sector, uncovering impactful opportunities to drive revenue growth and support the energy and utilities sector in their journey towards net zero.
The candidate will interact with a broad range of industry customers and wider stakeholders to grow a robust pipeline and manage opportunities through to closure. They will oversee the portfolio of projects in-flight, managing and developing our strategic accounts, providing domain expertise to support the wider team. The candidate will be a key voice for the contribution of deep tech to the UK’s net zero agenda.
WHAT YOU’LL DO (Duties)
- Develop and own our plan for growing business in the Energy & Sustainability market verticals
- Develop strong commercial relationships with key individuals within client and potential client organisations to enable further sales opportunities
- Manage the end to end sales process - building a substantial commercial pipeline, sending proposals, negotiating and closing contracts
- Interact with teams across the whole of Digital Catapult to bring the best technology to our clients to solve their problems
- Build and maintain a deep domain knowledge in the sector
- Leading on bids and tenders in the Energy & Sustainability sector on behalf of Digital Catapult
Requirements - Significant experience in business development / consultancy roles in the Energy & Sustainability sector
- A strong track record of success in consultative selling – ideally in a professional services context
- Experience in building a pipeline of >£4m and developing multi-million pound tenders/proposals
- Familiarity with, and excitement about, innovation and emerging deep tech solutions
- Experience of developing compelling offerings, thought-leadership positions and go-to-market initiatives
