Physical Demands:
The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, turn, stretch, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Manual dexterity and physical strength required to handle equipment including pushing/pulling vacuums, mops, and brooms. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and core hours of work are Monday through Friday eight (8) hours per day with overtime as needed. Position requires work schedule flexibility based on needs of the facility, which may include weekends and holidays.
TRAVEL
Infrequent or no travel would be expected in this position.
Required Education, Experience and License
Valid Texas Driver License with an acceptable record
Must obtain and maintain BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR and AED training within first 90 days of employment
Preferred Education, Experience and License
At least one year experience in environmental services preferred
High School diploma or GED preferred
Ability to work with elderly in a residential setting
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
The EVS technician should have a willingness and desire to work with the elderly population and to gain knowledge in this field. He / She should also possess good oral and written communication skills.
