GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for directing, developing, and overseeing the environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures for Dole Fresh Vegetables. This role provides environmental, health, and safety support to all operational groups in DFV ensuring all practices are following federal, state, and county regulations including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, and DOT over multiple states.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local legislation and codes governing environmental, health, and safety practices and policies.
• Responsible for the implementation of all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures for multiple facilities.
• Interfaces with regulatory agencies to including but not limited to CHP, EPA, OSHA, and DOT.
• Conducts safety and environmental audits of all operating facilities within DFV including PHA, PSM, and OSHA programs.
• Responsible for running and improving Dole’s Target Zero Safety Program with the goal of preventing and reducing accidents at all locations.
• Conducts accident investigations, data analysis, recurrence prevention programs and procedures, and ensures corrective actions are completed.
• Conducts annual reviews of all location safety records. Compiles and presents data to Dole leadership and reports data to regulatory agencies as required.
• Responds to and provides direction in all emergency situations.
• Ensures all recordkeeping is timely and conforms to company mandates.
• Responsible for incorporating and following all Food Safety Requirements and GMPs as applicable to position.
• Manages and oversees the employee health centers in Springfield, OH and Bessemer City, NC.
• Other duties as assigned.
