JOB SUMMARY
Cresco Labs is seeking a Statewide EHS and Quality Assurance Manager to oversee both environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs and quality assurance (QA) activities across our Florida facilities. This position reports to the Sr. Operations Director - Florida. The Statewide EHS and QA Manager will ensure regulatory compliance, promote a culture of safety and quality, and support the development and implementation of policies and procedures. This role involves managing quality standards for various cannabis products and implementing safety protocols to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will possess experience in a highly regulated industry, demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, and excel in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
CORE JOB DUTIES
Quality Assurance Responsibilities
- Manage all quality-related activities, including product sampling, in-process and finished product inspection, stability sampling, and testing.
- Oversee compliance with quality specifications for flower, vape pens, infused products, and concentrates.
- Investigate customer complaints and product quality issues, perform root cause analyses, and lead CAPA initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement by collaborating with operations personnel to address quality risks and implement process improvements.
- Ensure documentation accuracy, conduct GMP facility inspections, and participate in internal quality audits.
- Conduct data analysis and reporting, including product testing results, KPIs, and compliance with quality standards.
Environmental Health and Safety Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce safety programs, including Hazardous Communication, Lockout/Tagout, and Respiratory Protection.
- Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and training on OSHA standards to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Manage OSHA reporting and investigations, assess safety incidents, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with facility leadership to implement safety enhancements, resolve escalated emergencies, and advise on best safety practices.
- Review incident data, identify trends, and advocate for procedural improvements to mitigate risks.
- Develop and deliver training materials for quality and safety protocols, ensuring cross-departmental adherence to established standards.
- Represent the facility in regulatory agency audits and responses, supporting compliance across all quality and safety areas.
- Travel regularly to Florida facilities (Indiantown and Lakeland), with occasional out-of-state trips for training as required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (occupational safety, health, food science, biology, chemistry, or engineering).
- 5+ years of experience in quality or EHS roles within a regulated industry (cannabis, food, healthcare, pharmaceutical).
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, 29 CFR 1910, HACCP, GMP, GFSI guidelines (such as BRC, SQF), and experience with regulatory agency investigations.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various levels of the organization.
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25-30% of the time to support multiple facilities.
