Job Summary:
The Commissioning Manager will oversee and coordinate the commissioning phase of projects, ensuring that all systems and equipment are tested, verified, and operational according to project specifications. This role involves close collaboration with project teams, engineers, vendors, and clients to meet quality standards, timelines, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement commissioning plans and schedules.
- Coordinate commissioning activities to ensure safe and timely startup of systems and equipment.
- Manage resources, including personnel and materials, required for the commissioning phase.
- System and Equipment Testing:
- Supervise testing of mechanical, electrical, and process systems to verify installation and operation accuracy.
- Review and validate test results, adjusting and troubleshooting as necessary.
- Document testing results and maintain accurate records for quality assurance.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with safety regulations and company standards.
- Develop risk assessments and implement safe work practices.
- Address safety or compliance issues during commissioning.
- Team Coordination and Leadership:
- Lead and mentor commissioning team members, providing guidance and support.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and clients.
- Facilitate regular meetings to discuss progress, resolve issues, and adjust schedules.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare detailed commissioning reports and handover documentation.
- Ensure all operational and maintenance manuals are complete and accurate.
- Handover fully commissioned and operational systems to the operations team or client.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant field).
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of commissioning experience in similar industries, with at least 3-5 years in a management or leadership role.
- Required Expertise:
- Proven experience commissioning at least one floating photovoltaic (PV) project.
- Extensive experience (10 years) with 230KV systems.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of commissioning processes and standards.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to lead a team effectively and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Preferred Certifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CMRP, or industry-specific qualifications) are an advantage.
