Position Summary:
The Solar Roof Lead Installer is responsible for installing high-quality solar panel systems in residential settings. A strong background in solar installations, an understanding of safety protocols, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients. Serving Sonoma and Marin Counties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- 60% of the time will be doing solar work. 40% of the time will be doing electrical installs
- Install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems in accordance with established plans and procedures.
- Ensure that installations are completed in a timely manner, maximizing efficiency while adhering to safety protocols and standards.
- Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to ensure installations meet specified requirements and address any potential challenges.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions and perform necessary repairs.
- Coordinate with local utilities and permitting offices for system commissioning and grid interconnection.
- Train and mentor-apprentice installers, providing guidance and sharing expertise.
- Stay updated with industry standards, technologies, and best practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized job site, ensuring all tools and equipment are accounted for.
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering client questions and ensuring they understand the functionality and care of their new solar system.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Solar Lead Roof Installer in the solar industry.
- Demonstrated ability to install, maintain, and repair residential solar PV systems.
- Familiarity with local electrical codes and solar installation regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work at heights.
