POSITION:
As a subject matter expert in the renewable energy space, the DG Strategist will be responsible for selling and delivering consulting services related to onsite ‘behind-the-meter’ projects. Initially focused on commercial & industrial scale solar PV, the individual will play an integral role within the renewable energy solutions team in EMEA.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Delivering commercial proposals to clients ranging from small and medium enterprises to multi-national corporations.
- Acting as a subject matter expert, providing business development and commercial support to colleagues across Europe.
- Completing initial solar designs and high-level economic analyses to determine site viability.
- Sourcing, developing and maintaining strong collaborative commercial relationships with onsite renewable energy project developers across Europe.
- Presenting at relevant industry events to raise awareness of World Kinect Corporation’s renewable energy solutions in the marketplace.
- Developing and maintaining market intelligence related to distributed generation assets, including regulatory environment, incentives and other economic factors.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of renewable energy solutions, particularly solar photovoltaic systems for the commercial and industrial segments (ranging from a few hundred kilowatt-peak to several Megawatt-peak installations).
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Language: business-level English is a requirement. Other languages are a distinct advantage.
- At least two years of solar photovoltaic experience
- Broad technical knowledge of solar photovoltaic systems at the distribution network level
- Knowledge of the solar market including an understanding of relevant regulatory requirements, interconnection processes and incentives.
- Strong problem-solving skills and creativity; the ability to adapt to a fast-paced market.
- Ability to manage multiple competing projects and deliver meaningful business results with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel nationally and at times within Europe.
DESIRABLE
- Direct experience with distributed generation projects within a major energy supplier or solar project developer would be a strong advantage.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or sustainability-related subject or similar.
- Existing relationships with commercial and industrial renewable energy providers is an advantage.
