POSITION SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, conducts in-process and finished product testing to determine adherence to established specifications of quality and purity. Assist with instrument maintenance, equipment upgrades, and lab projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyze data for a variety of purposes, such as production, pollution control, quality control, and minor research.
- Release in spec vessels and report out of spec vessels
- Test and analyze production samples, such as fermenters, beerstills, rectifiers, etc., and report uncharacteristic results.
- Document results of tests, readings, etc. in logbooks and in LIMS System.
- Complete and update changes to Certificates of Analysis.
- Prepare chemical solutions for use in the lab.
- Preform required preventative maintenance and calibrations on various laboratory instruments (GC’s, HPLC’s, IC’s, etc.)
- Maintains awareness and adheres to all FDA, GMP, TTB, USP, EPA, OSHA and employer standards and guidelines.
- Assist QC Laboratory Manager in projects, method development, and updating SOPs/ANPs.
- Fill in as needed for Lab Technician role to reduce OT in the Lab. (Vacation Coverage, Vacancy, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work on multiple tasks

- Willingness to assume and learn new responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to understand and comply with plant GMP and personnel practice requirements
- Computer skills to utilize lab instrument operation programs
- 2- or 4-year science degree is preferred, a high school diploma or GED is required
- 4 plus years of work experience in a quality assurance lab preferred
