We are looking to hire a PROJECT ASSISTANT to support our East Chicago, Indiana office. This role will be based out of our job site location at Westville Correctional facility until that project is complete. This individual will be responsible for assisting with estimate take offs, submittals and day to day support of the estimating and project management teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with estimate take offs
- Build material submittals
- Keep up with the estimating tracking log
- Working with vendors on material quotes for estimates
- Attend bid walkdowns
- Day to day support of the Estimators and Project Managers
- Assume any additional duties and responsibilities as delegated by Sargent Electric Management.
SKILLS:
- Excellent written communication skills. Proficient with computers, particularly Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to type.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of diverse individuals.
- Works efficiently under tight time frames, responds to requests in a timely manner, and communicates effectively as a team player.
- Understands the importance of being able to multi-task.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Eagerness to learn new technologies, processes, and other project demands
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to use date to inform project decisions
- Strong planning, prioritizing, and presentation skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bluebeam PDF software experience
- Hands-on experience in the Commercial or Industrial field.
- Familiarity with Accubid estimating software system.
