Job Description Summary
Within the team “Plant Operability & Design” the “Technical Leader – Cycle Concept & Design” is providing the team with technical guidance to ensure timely and qualitative sound engineering. The main duty is the verification of the overall plant integration concepts prior to application in project execution; the definition of the design basis for all Water/Steam Cycle components including the HRSG such to support the operation concept of the power plant; performing mechanical design; and finally rectification of commissioning constrains. The Technical Leader will provide mentorship within the global team and he will serve as focal point of contact for internal as well as external customers. He will develop and establish processes to drive collaborative alignment with interfacing parties like GT, ST, HRSG and Controls while driving standardization to reduce variations in the project requisition.
This position enables growth in technical breadth, strengthening of project management skills, and exposure to coaching and mentoring other engineers globally.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
- The technical guidance and mentoring of other team members
- Ensuring globally, throughout the project execution, the application of harmonized engineering practices
- Driving standardization and cross functional collaboration with interfacing parties like GT, ST, HRSG and Controls
- Defining lean workflows ensuring highest quality and repeat effect, including the formal maintenance in QMS and application verification
- Driving generic tasks resulting in updated design guidelines or project templates
- Providing support and training to ITO
- Active involvement in NPI programs, verifying their practical application in OTR and linking NPI/Simulation results with Product design & operability
- Active involvement in ER, NCR and RCA investigations
- Acting as first point of contact for “customers” inside and outside the team
- Driving safety, compliance, and unyielding integrity in everything we do

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in mechanical Engineering or related disciplines from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge and experience
- 10+ years experience in power plant engineering
- Plant Integration experience in upstream engineering processes like performance calculation, GT or ST technology
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; able to interface effectively within the organization across the different faculties as well as outside the company with Customers and Partners
Desired Characteristics:
- Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
- Self-motivated with the ability to lead and drive dedicated engineering assignments
- Experience in plant control and controls engineering
- Experience in RCA and/or NCR handling
- Background in NPI and/or ITO processes
- Problem analysis and resolution skills
- Fluency in English
- Willingly to travel
