Shifts Available and Hours:
Every Other Weekend Off (2-2-3) Schedule; Alternating Days and Nights Every 4 Weeks
Shift Premium: Nightshift - $1.00/hour extra
Job Responsibilities:
- You will be expected to take a maintenance placement test so that you can be placed accordingly in the program.
- You will be learning skills in several different Maintenance areas: General maintenance, Print Reading, Power Transmission, Electrical, PLC’S, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Welding, Rigging, Combustion
- You will need to complete up to 600 hours of classroom work on your own time.
- You will be required to complete up to 8000 hours of On-the-Job Training. Apprentice will be required to keep track of their OJT hours in a record book.
- To receive a Journeyman Certificate, you must pass the final test.
- As you proceed thru the Program you will be able to accomplish the tasks listed below.
Maintenance Position Expectations:
- Must be safety conscious and have a good safety record and ability to advocate housekeeping and safety standards in the Department.
- Perform the functions of an electro-mechanical technician including the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all types of industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment using PLC and testing devices and instruments traditionally used in electrical and pyrometric trades.
- Install or repair conduit, wiring, cable, electric motors, transformers, and all other relevant electrical components.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components.
- Safely and efficiently operate arc and MIG welders and gas torches for welding, soldering, brazing, and cutting.
- Fabrication of parts from blueprints and sketches.
- Working knowledge of MS Windows, Excel, and Word.
- Must be an excellent problem solver.
- Must be a team player.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
