DescriptionThe tax accountant is primarily responsible for all U.S. federal tax return filings and computations related to foreign operations (including but not limited to forms 1118, 5471, 8865 and 8858), monthly, quarterly and annual U.S. federal tax provisions on foreign source income, foreign withholding tax on dividend distributions, and the preparation of the international tax computation for the ten-year plan. In addition, the tax accountant will assist with the preparation of any international tax return(s) and associated work papers, researching, analyzing and documenting international tax issues for purposes of preparing international tax returns and for tax planning, and assist with any mergers and acquisitions due diligence work and the liquidation of any foreign subsidiary or international investment divestiture.
Responsibilities
- Preparation of the compliance team to prepare federal income tax return forms and supporting documentation related to the taxation of income from foreign operations.
- Preparation of the monthly income tax provision documentation (i.e., tax accounting) on foreign source income.
- Supports the preparation of the ten-year plan.
- Support in the preparation of any international tax return(s) and associated work papers.
- Assist with the preparation of any foreign tax withholding associated with foreign dividend distributions including related work papers.
- Support tax research, analyzing and documenting international tax issues in preparation of U.S. federal tax returns, international tax returns and tax planning.
- Provide technical leadership and support to other international tax staff.
- Provide technical input to assist in development of project planning.
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
- 4 or more years of related work experience which is in tax accounting with a certified public accountant (CPA) designation or graduate degree.
- Strong knowledge of tax law and procedures, tax research skills, familiarity with various tax returns and schedules.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- Strong accounting and financial statement knowledge.
- Strong computer software skills: for example: MS Office Suite especially Excel
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
