DescriptionWood is recruiting a Subject Matter Expert – Rotating Equipment (Carbon Capture) with relevant design expertise in Brownfields Oil & Gas projects to join our global Operations business. This engagement is a contract opportunity, to support the rotating mechanical discipline on a part time basis remotely.

ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Head of Discipline – Mechanical & Piping, you will step up and into a dedicated, integrated client project team. You will balance technical, team, and project leadership support across onshore gas plants (including LNG) and offshore gas and condensate production facilities and ensure the successful delivery of mechanical package. In addition to
- Preparation of Equipment/Package Technical Specifications, Mechanical Data Sheets and Requisitions for Enquiry and Purchase
- Technical evaluation / clarification of supplier bids, including the technical reports to support order placement
- Technical supervision of supplier design and control of supplier interface and co-ordination of interfaces with other engineering disciplines
- Input to construction work packs and technical support during installation and commissioning
QualificationsYou will be an Australian citizen or hold Permanent Residency (PR) to work lawfully in Australia. If you have a visa application in progress, you are also encouraged to apply.
You will be suitably qualified with a Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognized institution OR equivalent industry experience, and have:
- 14+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer, predominantly in the Oil & Gas sector
- Experienced in engineering design including conceptual, FEED and detailed design
- Capable of communicating and interfacing effectively with other disciplines, project managers, and clients’ representatives
- Must have strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards for Rotating Equipment including API standards
- Good understanding of packaged equipment including rotating equipment
- Exceptional package management skills
