Project summary
SerVermont promotes, supports, and recognizes volunteerism and community service throughout the state of Vermont and is seeking to fill six, one-time Disaster Services VISTA Positions with a specific focus on Flood Recovery. Members will engage in Disaster Preparation, Response, Recovery, and/or Mitigation in response to the recent Climate Disasters in Vermont. SerVermont is partnering with a number of organizations statewide to collaborate on flood recovery and climate resiliency.
Opportunity description
The Vermont Climate Corps VISTA Disaster Cadre will address flood recovery in Vermont. Each VISTA assignment will have an anti-poverty focus, a commitment to community empowerment, an emphasis on sustainable solutions, will work to build capacity at organizations, and will be specific to flood recovery. Capacity-building activities may include communications, grant writing, fundraising, establishing volunteer recruitment and management systems, community outreach, and partnership development.
