JOB SUMMARY: This position is a Civil Engineer, GS- 0810-13, working in East Orland, ME, for the Maine Ecological Services Field Office. This is a term position expected to last 13 months but may be extended up to a total of 4 years at management's discretion. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Civil Engineer your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Providing engineering coordination and expertise to support shared priorities identified by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Natural Resources Conservation Service. Managing, overseeing, and implementing resource projects, to include engineering planning, designs, calculations, and analysis, along with developing contract plans and specifications as required for the planning and construction of civil works (water resources, infrastructure, ecosystem restoration) projects. Providing technical engineering recommendations at coordination meetings to outline policies, procedures, and criteria for design development and reporting to upper management. Building collaborative relationships with agency and non-agency partners to address natural resource conservation and management needs.
