JOB SUMMARY: This position is a Wildlife Refuge Manager, GS-0485-14, working in Brigham City, Utah, for the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge. MAJOR DUTIES: As a Wildlife Refuge Manager your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Serves as Wildlife Refuge Manager in charge of Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge, responsible for overall administration, planning, program direction, coordination and evaluation. Continues the refuge expansion plans and efforts. Incumbent must win and maintain support for refuge acquisition of 38,000 acres (16,000 acres fee title and 22,000 acres wetland easement). Coordinates with and resolves conflicts between federal, state and private groups and individuals where refuge or natural resource management interests conflict. Provides guidance for gaining consensus and implementing habitat management programs including development, assessment and modification of habitat plans for haying, grazing prescribed burning, and resting while complying with Service policy and compatibility standards.
