At Fluence Energy, we’re on a mission to revolutionize energy storage, and we’re looking for a Vice President of Supply Chain Center of Excellence to lead our global efforts in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), advanced planning, LEAN practices, quality management, and Supply Chain Services. This role is pivotal in fostering operational excellence and efficiency as we continue our expansion and innovation in clean energy.
As VP of Supply Chain CoE, you will be at the helm of a high-performing team, working across regions to drive best practices, establish standardization, and elevate our supply chain capabilities. Your leadership will be essential in aligning strategic planning, optimizing end-to-end supply chain processes, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and quality across Fluence’s global operations.

Key Responsibilities as the Vice President of Supply Chain Center of Excellence at Fluence:- Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
- Drive a robust S&OP process, ensuring seamless alignment between demand forecasting, supply planning, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with global and regional leaders to implement SAP-driven production scheduling and inventory planning, supporting business objectives.
- Standardize S&OP practices across regions to foster collaboration, transparency, and accountability.
- Global Supply Chain Planning & Optimization
- Develop and oversee global practices for demand, supply, and inventory planning to maximize efficiency and consistency.
- Use SAP ERP to create integrated, data-driven planning processes that support balanced demand and supply operations worldwide.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to optimize resources, reduce costs, and enhance service levels.
- LEAN & Continuous Improvement
- Champion LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies, driving process improvements to cut waste, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiencies.
- Build a culture of continuous improvement through standardized work practices, visual management systems, and global KPIs.
- Lead LEAN training programs, workshops, and cross-regional projects to inspire a commitment to excellence.
- Quality Management & Compliance
- Establish quality management processes that ensure consistency, reliability, and customer satisfaction across global supply chain operations.
- Develop global quality standards and conduct audits to ensure compliance with regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions to address risks, uphold compliance, and meet quality objectives.
- SAP ERP & Data Integration
- Leverage SAP ERP to streamline forecasting, planning, and quality management across operations, ensuring data accuracy and transparency.
- Lead data governance initiatives to enhance data quality and enable informed decision-making across supply chain systems.
- Optimize SAP ERP modules for alignment with business goals, improving operational efficiency and planning accuracy.
- Performance Metrics & Reporting
- Define and monitor global KPIs to evaluate S&OP, planning, LEAN, quality, and SAP ERP performance, aligning metrics with corporate objectives.
- Use SAP and other data sources to analyze trends, identify opportunities, and drive strategic recommendations.
- Provide regular performance updates to executive leadership, highlighting achievements and action plans for continuous improvement.
- Global Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Build, mentor, and lead a global team focused on collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Partner with finance, operations, and procurement leaders to ensure alignment of planning and quality initiatives with business objectives.
- Foster open communication and knowledge sharing across regions, promoting best practices and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years in supply chain management, with expertise in S&OP, planning, LEAN, quality, and SAP ERP.
- Proven track record managing global teams and driving large-scale process improvements across regions.
- Deep expertise in SAP ERP, specifically in modules for supply chain planning, inventory management, and quality control.
- Strong foundation in LEAN, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies, with demonstrated success in enhancing global efficiency and quality.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and strategic skills with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills for complex, global networks.
Additional Skills:- Familiarity with international compliance standards in supply chain and quality management.
- Ability to lead complex projects with a hands-on, adaptable approach in a dynamic environment.
- Proven skill in balancing strategic priorities with operational needs on a global scale.
