Job Description and Duties
Under the direction of the Supervising Transportation Engineer, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing administrative services, personnel services, and cooperative agreements for the Division of Program/Project Management (PPM). The incumbent acts as the focal point of contact for the Division and is responsible for the successful operation, management, and delivery of the Personnel Services, Administrative Services, and Cooperative Agreements in a timely and efficient manner. The incumbent may be required to travel occasionally for training or meetings, both locally and statewide.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Staff Services Manager I exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. Special Requirements
A Statement of Qualifications is required to be considered for the position. Applicants who fail to submit the SOQ as outlined will be disqualified from the selection process. A notation or reference to other materials such as resumes or applications will not be considered a substitute for the SOQ. The SOQ must be no longer than 2 pages, single-spaced, and in 12-point font. Describe the following in the SOQ:
- Knowledge/experience with personnel hiring services and resource management including interacting with district and Headquarters entities to ensure timely delivery of services within the scope of duties;
- Knowledge/experience in the development of cooperative agreements, reports, and funding documents for transportation projects;
- Experience communicating internally with project managers, functions, and Divisions and externally with local agencies for development of documents such as coop agreements;
- Ability to supervise, plan, lead, and direct multi-disciplinary staff in achieving successful project delivery outcomes through teamwork and collaboration.
