We are currently looking for a Health, Safety & Environment Leader – Poland, who will implement and sustain a positive health, safety and environmental culture.
Description
- Implement and sustain a positive health, safety, and environmental culture through the application of the management systems framework in site(s) with low complexity.
- Establishing the short term and long-term strategic plan for the site to foster continual health, safety and environmental Improvement, leading programs, policies and assessments and monitoring performance to ensure compliance with Cummins internal requirements, applicable health, safety and environmental regulations and industry standards.
- Builds strong relationships across functions to ensure the organization understands their roles and responsibilities and are committed to driving a positive health, safety and environmental culture.
- Ensures employees are consulted and given the opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures.
- Leads hazard identification, environmental aspect identification and risk assessment programs to identify strategic risk improvement opportunities and gaps in health, safety and environmental compliance obligations.
- Leads daily health, safety and environmental operations within the site(s) providing support to solve issues, including but not limited to health, safety and environmental compliance, capital and resource management, risk reduction, incident investigation, management of change, contractor safety, emergency preparedness and response, pollution prevention and environmental sustainability.
- Drives improvements to health, safety and environmental performance metrics using a risk-based and data-driven approach. Adheres to Cummins internal reporting requirements through approved systems.
- Coaches and develops direct reports and/or cross-functional teams based on stakeholder feedback, observations, and succession plan needs.
Qualifications
- Health, Safety and Environment Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis - Examines HSE incidents by completing quality, evidence-based investigations with accurate root cause analysis, resulting in effective corrective actions, accurate reporting and avoiding repeated incidents.
- Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems - Interprets and applies international standards through practical application within the operating environment to achieve and maintain an effective management system and external certification.
- Influence the Health, Safety and Environmental Culture - Champions positive health and safety behaviors by influencing leaders and employees to create the right environment.
- Risk Assessment - Evaluates hazards within the work environment by applying hazard identification and risk assessment techniques to analyze and prioritize risk, enabling a selection of control measures that reduce risk as low as reasonably practicable.
- Work Related Injury and Illness Management - Communicates and documents work related injuries or illnesses through application of Cummins reporting guidelines and relevant regulations to classify and manage the event and its consequences as well as achieve regulatory compliance.
- Cares for the affected employees by facilitating clinical treatment practices and applying case management processes to restore the employee to his/her normal condition.
- Builds effective teams - Building strong-identity teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals.
- Manages conflict - Handling conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noise.
- Communication skills
Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree required. Health, Safety and/or Environmental degree required.
Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred.
Experience
- Significant level of experience required, including experience in management of health, safety and environmental ISO Standards required.
- Minimal management experience preferred.
- Polish and English to be able professionally communicate both in written and spoken form with internal and external stakeholders.
