Environmental Compliance Specialist
Uniroyal Engineered Products is a leading manufacturer of vinyl coated fabrics that are durable, stain resistant, cost-effective alternatives to leather, cloth and other synthetic fabric coverings. The company manufactures automotive, specialty and Naugahyde brand products at its manufacturing plant in Stoughton, Wisconsin.
Job Summary
The Environmental Compliance Specialist ensures that a culture of safety is a value and is part of everyone's daily life. This position ensures the organization, planning, direction, and control of Environmental requirements for our production site in Stoughton. The position provides the technical direction, expertise, and leadership to oversee and continuously improve the Environmental processes to minimize risk and ensure that the sites are compliant with regulations. It is essential that the Environmental Compliance Specialist collaborates effectively with members of all Site Management Teams.
Responsibilities
Environmental Compliance and Recording, Health and Safety.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations related to Environmental Safety.
- Examples: OSHA PSM, RMP, RC 14001, ACC, EPA Clean Air Act Title V, ISO, federal and state EPA agencies
- Ensure compliance with all permitting requirements.
- Responsible to track and maintain compliance with routine record keeping and reporting as required.
- Responsible for ensuring all regulatory reporting is submitted on time.
- Manage Industrial Hygiene activities.
- Responsible for ensuring the development and knowledge transfer of applicable regulations and required components to ensure environmental compliance.
- Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors follow all Uniroyal EHS policies.
- Ensure employees are trained in all required environmental and safety regulations as required.
- Responsible for creating a safety culture that is everyone's individual value to work safely.
- Responsible to ensure all safety, environment, health, and security procedures are followed so production is done in a safe manner.
- Responsible for providing environmental and regulatory input on plant operating decisions and routine activities.
- Interact with vendors, regulators, inspectors, environmental consultants, and contractors in a way that builds trust among the parties.
- Responsible for determining root causes for variations, develop and implement action items as assigned.
- Foster a positive work environment characterized by an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust, accountability, and open communication.
- Attention to detail and organization is required.
Requirements
The Environmental Compliance Specialist would need to be skilled in a variety of areas including Safety leadership, Team leadership, technical and analytical skills, SAP, general computer skill and Environmental knowledge.
- BS in Environmental, Chemistry, Engineering, or other Science.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Safety and/or Environmental roles in manufacturing.
- A thorough understanding of the regulatory process and the permitting process
- This person must have a working knowledge of problem-solving tools and root cause analysis.
